So I got to listen to Danny!’s Payback album today
because I got it like that lol
And let me tell you:
This could possibly be the album of the year.
(And I know it’s only January, but still!)
Possibly better than the masterpiece that is And I Love H.E.R.
I mean from the second it started I knew I was in for something.
From the lush Overture to the lyrical assault on Silly Me and the almost posse track that is Shit Starters (had some all stars on that one).
I absolutely loathe Bruno Mars’ music, but he did his thing on Evil. Like he was really good on that song! I would start listening to his music if he kept making music like that joint.
This classic was supposed to come out Tuesday of this week, but because of lack of attention it was pushed back. I will never understand why Danny! doesn’t get the attention he so rightly deserves.
This album is just so great. I mean… So great that I can’t wait to go buy it off of iTunes and the physical copy out of Best Buy.
Not only has Danny! managed to step it up lyrically and production-wise, but this is his 6th album (7th if you count both Where Is Dannys and his 9th/10th if you count his instrumental albums) and he still sounds hungry. He still sounds as if he’s giving us his all.
Anyone reading this post, if you want some good music search Danny! (Swain) and ensure that this album is heard by all ears.
